Season Of Spiders is the musical world of me, David Byrne, former member of The Willows and The Aluskas. In 2020, I released Living In Make Believe, my debut album as Season Of Spiders. This was followed by Season Of Spiders [2021] and Ghost Stories & Parlour Games [2022]. In October 2023, the final piece of the puzzle, The Following came out. These LPs represent four years of writing, arranging, performing, recording, mixing and mastering for a project that I have put all of my creative energy into.

 

Season Of Spiders tells the continuing story of my Alter-Ego, Jack Valentine, his family and the trials and tribulations of things to come in their lives. The music I've made is eclectic and genre-blending; rock 'n' roll ["My Rebel Soul"] sits comfortably beside country ["Big Old Moon"], electronica ["The Following III"], riff heavy rockers ["The Painting"], 8-Bit sounds ["Video Games"] and straight-ahead good songs ["While You Sleep", "The End"] to highlight just a few. My music is made for listening to and demands your attention.

I'm an independent solo musician and I write and record at my small home studio Audio Arcade. The music is released through my own label Cobweb Recordings. Originally from Dublin, I moved to Co. Wexford where I now live with my wife Natalie [who designs all of my record sleeves], son Casper and dog Sparky.
